BRIEFLY ABOUT SLOVENIA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION

The European Union or the EU is a political-economic union, consisting of 28 countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

There is a single internal market established among the EU Member States, which ensures the free movement of goods, services, capital and persons among the countries.

Within the EU, Slovenia has one of the most favourable legal arrangements for the establishment of a company and expanding its operations to the European market. Its central position and infrastructure enable investors to easily conduct business across the EU.

A LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY

Due to the low costs and fast establishment procedure, we recommend you establish a company in the legal form of a limited liability company. A limited liability company (LLC or d.o.o.) is the most widespread form of a company in the world. It is a legal entity that is an independent holder of rights and obligations in legal transactions and is liable for its undertaken obligations up to the amount of its own assets. Company members are not liable for the company's obligations. The share capital of a limited liability company consists of the capital contributions of the company members, amounting to a minimum of EUR 7,500.00. If you want us to establish a company on your behalf in some other form, contact us.

In Slovenia, a limited liability company can be established by one or more legal or natural persons. This also applies to legal or natural persons from third countries. On the basis of the above, we distinguish two types of limited liability companies:

—   LLC with one owner/company member and
—   LLC with multiple owners/company members (up to 50).
